Just getting started, any help would be greatly appreciated
Hay Ryan! Thanx for moving this here from the social side of things. 🙂
Okay, first thing I need to know is: What type of background are you hoping for? Do you want a full image background? A repeating pattern or image? Give me a little detail.
Also, what theme do you plan to use, or have you not chosen yet?
On the off-chance you wan to do a single large photo for the background of your site, I recommend the Background Manager Plug-in which you can activate on your Dashboard/Plugins page. You can set a background image using the plug-in and it will re-size the photo to fit the screen of the person visiting your site.
You can even have several images and either set it to load a random image for each visit or page view, or to fade in a new image like a slideshow.
It has lots of great options.
Again, if that’s not what you’re looking for, let me know.
This might not be the ‘graphic artist’ response but I use picmonkey.com to resize and format photos, add text and overlays quite often. It’s free and easy to use.
You kidding Susan? Anything that makes it easier and less expensive for folks is a great thing. 🙂 Thanx for jumping in with that recommendation.
